Apad 1.6 Review

Few weeks ago, I bought an Apad. Well, actually two apads because we got the money and we wanted to have a mobile internet device for our company. We bought it from someone in New York City. Shipping was actually pretty good, better than I expected (International Shipping). So, along came the apad to our hands. Once charged, I started using and here is my review of it.

It has been a very useful device. It comes with everything: Web browser, music player, video player, and a camera. Web browsing is actually pretty good. It has a google browser preloaded. I installed Opera, Skyfire, and Dolphin, but unfortunately l got used to the default browser.

Moving on, the music player is OK. It doesn't has a playlist creator and I doubt it reads .m3u files. One good thing is shake-and-change song system. One very bad thing is its non user friendly user interface, however I'm used to this kind of weird limited user interface (I'm a Linux User). Also, it lacks of a live radio marketplace. But for listening purposes, it is a decent player. I tried to install a new one, but it is a big problem. Don't worry, I'll cover this later.

Video Player. Where do I start? Well, a 648 x 360 avi video didn't playback well. The weird thing is that a Palm device with lower specifications could play a 640x480 .mkv and .avi video without a problem. Even with subtitles. So I do not know where Google stand on this. I strongly believe it is an Android problem, rather than a hardware issue.

Market Place. It is pretty much useless. A quick google search will confirm that. I do not know why it fails but it does. However, with a little help from google I could download the top wanted android apps.

Music playback is ok. I can survive without HD videos and I hate market applications such as the ones that comes on Linux. I prefer saving my apps and then install them. Email App works fantastic, no problems there. The great thing is the Gravity sensor. I love that. Screen Quality is ok, it does what I want, so I have no complains there.

Picture viewing is quiet surprising. It opens a 8 megapixels 22 mb pictures without a problem. Although, I couldn't find a resize app for Android.

The camera is somehow useful. It is a shame that I couldn't find a video chat app such as Skype for my Apad. Quality is... how can I put it? ehh... it has Motorola V3 picture quality. Not a very good quality, but it is kinda of acceptable. Video Recording is... OK. Don't expect an HD video.

In conclusion, the Apad is only for true geeks, not for consumers. I strongly recommend for consumers to wait for the Motorola Android Table. It's quite expensive, but it is 10 times better than the iPad.

About six years ago, I told my friends that El Salvador was heading towards becoming the Argentina of Central America. Too many loans to international creditors and the worst decision ever, change the currency to dollars. El Salvador changed its currency about 10 years ago, I think, and I was very very young, but I knew it was a bad idea. My friends were like "dude, stop reading, stop listening to the communist party" however I didn't change my mind. Why it was a bad idea? Well, people don't know what is involved in keeping the exchange rate at 8.75. Like in Argentina, we kept the dollar exchange rate static, and that is not something that you just do.

Keeping a static rate involves paying a lot of money (millions?) and yes we are paying to keep it static. The majority of people don't know that, and will never know. So, right now, we are paying a lot of money in interest so that the dollar "doesn't go up". We are wasting millions of dollars that we could use to help recover the economy or impulsing some fiscal benefits to big corporations in order to create jobs. It sucks right? Well, there is more.

Like Greece, we (El Salvador) became a nation of turism and services. Yeah, I've been reading the Greece case and their main focus for economy growth was turism/services. What are the companies that are establishing here in El Salvador? Call Centers (Services) and hotel chains (Turism) I'm not saying those are bad companies, what I'm trying to say is that we have no industry. We are not producing anything. We are importing way too much and producing way too little, kinda like Greece. Look around, research, read, we are almost under the same circumstances. El Salvador is a house of cards. What can we do? Argentina survived 'cause it had a well developed industry and agriculture. Yeah, you read that right, Argentina export vegetables and such, they had/have a surplus in export/import and they could recover their economy. They are not quite yet, but at least they are not in bankruptcy. Greece? Well... They are hanging in there. They have a big turism industry, unlike here, but their main focus was Services, just like here.

So, what about El Salvador? Well, soon we will fail as a country. Not because of gangs, but because we will go bankrupt. Many will disagree with me, they have the right to be wrong. What if we can't pay our loans, our creditors? We will go bankrupt, like in Argentina. What will happen to our money? lol our money. There are not national banks in which you can save your money, our money will be gone. Banks won't release the money, like in Argentina and there will be chaos.

What we can do? The only thing that we can do is start to work to get agriculture back on track. Try to get some industries to come here and create jobs. Balance the import/export rate. We can no longer be a Services nation.

We need to regulate the exchange rate. I'm not saying go back to our old currency. I'm saying stop the static rate. Either we do this now, or wait for chaos...

After researching for over an hour, I found the instructions on how to install xmms under kubuntu. However, this wasn't easy. I spend over 2 hours compiling... yes, two hours... Nothing worse than compiling something that you don't know if it's gonna work or not....

I've got xmms running on my system, however, it shouldn't be that hard to install something, after all, Linux is "open-source"

Ok folks, I made the huge mistake of installing Ubuntu 9.04 and deleting my perfectly working version of Kubuntu. Ubuntu sucks. Sorry guys, but it does. I mean, what kind of crap is Gnome? How the hell is Gnome preferred over KDE?

Anyways, right about now, I'm downloading Kubuntu Karmic Koala for my ibook. Previous versions of Kubuntu have failed on me, don't really know why, but I'm tired of that Linux crap.... Wish me luck!

A few weeks ago, I read an article in a newspaper that contained fragments of a letter that the Senator James P. McGovern sent to the President of El Salvador Mauricio Funes. In that letter, the Senator was asking our president to revise some criminal cases in which are involved some pretty powerful persons. After reading that articIe, I felt compelled to inform Senator McGovern about the current situation of those cases. I sent a letter to him, and even though I did not get a reply, the feeling of happiness invaded me because I did my duty as a concern citizen.

However, it took me five days to write that letter. It was hard because I did not know how to express what I wanted to say. After some thinking, I decided to release the letter I wrote, so it can helpful to any of you out there, who clicked on my blog by mistake (or because I sent the link to you), wants to send a letter to a State Representative and do not know how to start one.

Please let me express my gratitude for dedicating time to read this letter. I would also like to express my feelings of hope that you bring by demonstrating interest in solving cases that have been covered up in the last couple of years in El Salvador. However, the hope that you are bringing to this country may fade away. Mauricio Funes committed to prosecute criminals and fight corruption. However, the people who are involved in cases like Katya Miranda and the Perrones Gang have strong influences in the Salvadoran Congress as well as in judicial system. For instance Reynerio Lazo, who is the leader of the Perrones Gang, recovered all of his properties, including money that he has in several bank accounts. On the other hand, in the Katya Miranda case, back in 1999, the majority of the evidence was reported as “lost” by the National Civilian Police. The mother of Katya Miranda fought for several years in order to clarify the dead of his daughter. However, due to constant threatening from the Miranda family, she left the country and hide in the United States, as she declared to a Salvadoran TV Station in 2003.
I am a concerned citizen of the Republic of El Salvador. The last couple of weeks, the media is again trying to cover up everything related to those cases. I kindly hope that you, honorable James P. McGovern, were able to travel to El Salvador and express your concerns to the citizens of this country and request the clarification of the cases mentioned above to the high authorities of this country.

Today, a bomb was activated in Iraq. It killed at least 42 persons. For me (and the US Army) that is just a number, nothing important. However, for Iraqis, that number represents human lives lost in a senseless war. I can help but notice that Al-Qaeda is increasing attacks against civilians and soldiers, and that is just wrong. Al-Qaeda, what the hell are you doing? C'mon, seriously, what the hell? Do you think people will support you when you are killing their families?

I hope you realize that everybody hates you. Leftist armies in the world fights for a good reason and they attack their enemies, not the civilians. You, on the other hand, kill any thing that moves. Dude, that's not how you handle a war. Forcing people to follow the dumb "Islamic Law" is not a really good option either. Why are fighting against the American Oppression if you are oppressing the people who live in your land? That just does not make any sense at all. Unless you are China, then, you have the fucking money to do whatever you want.

If you give people freedom to do everything they want, allow anyone to go to school (not Al-Qaeda School, High Education Level School) even women. By doing this, you will improve the quality of life of your people, which is what the big empire does not want you to do. Do you really think that USA wants you to learn about science, language and literature? NO! Why? 'Cause if you are ignorant, it becomes super easy to steal your land to drill oil.

Honduras, what are you doing? Seriously, what are you doing? The United Nations, The SICA, The CA-4 is not very happy with the current political situation. Emergency meetings are being held by those organizations. Those meetings are to decide the future of Honduras. No, they are not planning the next pajama party, you idiot! Every country member of those organizations are debating what kind of punishment you will receive if Mel Zelaya does not comeback as President of Honduras.

1. Get Mel Back!!
I know some of you don’t like the fucking bastard, but hey, you can vote against him! Not everything can to be solved with a M-16.

2. Look for a good Presidential Candidate
Come on, how hard can it be? It’s not like your only hope is a bald guy who can’t talk/read well. By doing this, you will ensure that the current ruling political party never reaches the Presidency ever again.

3. Return the Conejo Island

4. Beg

Easy there geeks!! I’m one of your kinds too. Probably you may argue with me all night long about my lack of skills when using “The Console”, but you cannot argue with me the fact that all Linux Distros failed delivering a great user experience, when someone decided to commercialize it. I remember the first time I saw in stores laptops using Ubuntu Linux. That happened during the successful rise of netbooks, well in fact it wasn’t a laptop, it was a netbook. It was being targeted to regular Windows users. I was so excited about that, however I knew that was a pretty big waste of time. Why? Well, Linux is not ready (and I don’t know if someday is going to be ready) for being release to the market, full of Windows/Mac users. Reasons? I will give you some pretty big reasons of why Linux died for the second time, in the pc market…

1. Can’t view videos of Yuvutu.com

Come on, if you are going to release a new operating system (well, for the majority was new) at least put it on a decent machine. I was not able to view the porn amateur videos that random people upload every day to this site. Playback was terrible, even Youtube was terrible.

2. Lack of Software

Gimp, Kopete, Gwenview, Gaim, Skype, SpeedCrunch, Open Office, etc, are good one-time-use applications. All the apps available for Linux looks like they’re still on Alpha stage. Gimp can’t compete with Photoshop; Open Office takes way too much time to load, and still no decent messenger application. Gaim/Kopete/anyIMapp4Linux are very confusing. It is not as easy as using WLM or AIM. The create account thingy on those Linux apps are just way too complex for a regular windows user.

Let’s not even start with multimedia. It is true that Linux has XMMS, which is like Winamp, however it won’t synchronize my Zune/Ipod. I want to be able to sync my MP3s devices without having to go through endless threads on internet forums.

3. How in the world do I install an app?

Now, we will see the real breaker for Linux. The way you install new apps in Linux has been bugging me for the last couple of years. Why do I have to be connected every single time I want to install an app? Why does it take so long? What do you mean by “You need to compile this in order to work…” Why can’t I save the installer in my thumb drive so I can share it with my friends? Why do I have to use Terminal in order to use that application? Where is the nice interface? What is a command?

All those questions come from people who bought a netbook with Linux pre-installed. They are still waiting on the line for technical support by the way.

That was just the tip of the iceberg, there are a lot more of problems that Linux still has. The second real chance that Linux had for becoming a dominant operating system was lost, since the bugs are still there and no one is sitting down to make a functional and reliable Linux.

Although there is still hope, not very reliable hope but there is, or may be not.

Several months ago, Mark Zuckerberg tried to take ownership of the content that people uploaded to Facebook. Sure, regular people like you and me (well, more like you, 'cause I'm a genius) didn't care about that, because nothing happened. However, Zuckerberg was trying to get his little website profitable. Yes, FB is not profitable enough to stay alive. Luckily Microsoft put some money in, hoping to get twice the amount invested. So far, FB is not getting high profits like Microsoft expected. Sure, it is the most popular social network in the world, but that doesn't mean it generating nasty amount of cash. But how to save facebook and the videos of me and my friends doing a puke contest? How? How? Fuck! Somebody say something!! Well, it seems like nobody's talking, so, I'm gonna be the Bad Guy....

How to Save Facebook:

Rent a Delorean, and travel to the past, then follow these instructions..

After doing that, you have to follow the Flickr Model. Create a Facebook Basic and a Facebook Pro. FB Basic will allow the user to have only one Photo Album with 60 pictures limit(Medium Quality). Also a 200 Friends limit, Two Status per week, 30 Weekly Wall Post per Friend, and last but most important, only one layout. Now the Facebook Pro will have no limitations. Unlimited HQ Photo Uploading, Unlimited Friends, any new feature, and most important, the ability to have the old facebook layout or any of the new ones. It seems to me that people like the old layout, don't know why, may be because IT FUCKING LOOKS JUST LIKE TWITTER!!!! Fuck! FB sucked big time with that change. How much for that? 19.99 for a whole year or 24.99 for two years. How cheap is that? Also afordable for any fucking kid who wants to share how sad he/she is.

That's it! That's the formula to turn Facebook Profitable. Once you get the Delorean, you are good to go.

Damn, Facebook had a lot of potential, but what do you expect from a college drop out? I mean, if he had finished college, he would had done what I just said.

I am scare. As of right now, a big thunderstorm is hitting my city. So far, I'm like "Santos Huevos Batidos!". I don't like thunders, don't know why, but hey! that's who I am. I've been told that I must visit a head shrink; I have the time, but I don't have the money and I bet it's gonna take over 6 months to get over that.

However, Palm Pre is selling good! Better than expected, hopefully they'll be back in the game. I just want the SDK so I can start making applications for the WebOS. It's HTML5 with XML! I gotta admit that I love HTML. Don't know anything about XML but I'm pretty sure I can learn about that.

Finally, AH1N1 is striking hard on Guatemala. Luckily I'm safe in my city. However, my city is not safe from criminals, so I got to be careful on where I go.

Yeah, tonight, El Salvador said goodbye to the World Cup. My country's soccer team lost against Honduras. It's hard to believe that we were so close to be in the next World Cup, but Honduras is so fucking good at soccer! I mean, they deserve to go to South Africa. Fuck! We were so close.... However, ES is not ready to face a tournament like this, we need more investment and we need to find good players who will bring glory to my country.

Sure, I said a lot of things about damn Mexicans, but of course they deserve that. I've been watching some Mexican Live TV shows and they don't fucking mention the match that they faced against El Salvador. Sure, we won, and that's all that matters. I won't feel bad if we don't go to the World Cup, in fact, it is ubber impossible to go there. Even thought we have an ok team, it's not skill enough to beat the others teams and go to the World Tournament. Mexico was defeated, and that's all that matters. Next time they look at us, they'll be afraid, they'll respect us again. I'm just so fucking happy.

You read that right. Hope is the feeling that something good is going to happen, despite what others say. Last night, the entire country's hope was met when the Salvadoran Soccer Team defeated Mexico 2 to 1 in a tight match. It is impressive that the #100 team won to the #27 team. What's more impressive for me is the fact that Mexicans gave a lot of importance to this match. I never seem so many people talking about El Salvador like I did last week, It seems to me that Mexico and El Salvador hates each other. Well, that hate is understandable 'cause Mexicans are the worst people in the world. They are fucking backstaver cutthroat son of bitches. I never met a Mexican who wasn't a fucking bastard. It is weird, but they are like that only with Latin Americans, not with Americans. Don't know why but that's the way it is. I'm glad I'm not a fucking Mexican, despite what others say, 'cause I'll be gay, with no friends and a PIPOPE

When professional photographers give advices to beginners, the only thing they always say is this "Shoot, Shoot, Shoot" or "Keep Shooting, Shoot Anything!" When I started my hobbie, that's what I did, and today I found the pictures I took Three Years ago, and let me tell you that those are the most horrible pictures I've ever seem in my life. I mean, damn, they are pretty bad. No amount of Photoshop can save them. So, I asked myself what happened. How is possible that I kinda improved in less than a year? My answer to that was simple: I had a theme. Beginners, it's not wheter you take 10 or 100 pictures. It's wheter you have a theme or not. By having a theme, you are able to look around and find things that most likely communicate your theme. Not only you'll become a better photographer, your pictures will look better.

How is it possible that a human being becomes a beetle in one night? How is it possible that his family forget about him at the end of the book? Why did his family kill him? Why no one tried to investigate the transformation? So many questions that are hard to answer. I do want to answer then, but I probably will be misleading you. This is not a short book and I feel it needs a sequel or at least a pre-quel. Why is he a beetle? No one knows, but I think it's just a metaphor of something that is destroying Gregor's life. Do you have something that you are hiding from your parents? friends? Society? That something is simplified in a beetle. Horrifying for some, accepted for others. People react in many ways, an example of that is how some members of his family are afraid of him, however, the housekeeper feeds him and somehow takes care of him. Just read the title, metamorphosis does not only refer to a marvelous change, it also refers to a change of state, either personality or behavior.

Now the forget part: Easy. Our parents will do anything for us, but there is a time, where we can bring shame to our family and they try to hide it. It is sad how they dispossed of the good memories of Gregor and his family. How can you forget about the one who loved you so much and gave his life so you can have a nice lifestyle? How? In our reality, that always happens. A husband who for only 20 minutes of pleasure, forgets about his wife and all the things that she did for him. It is sad, I know, but we also do the same thing. Look at your life, and count how many times you screamed at your mom/dad... Count the times you forgot about them and went partying with your friends... This book is a real example of our lives, but we deny to accept that we behave like the characters of this book...

Franz Kafka was a trouble man with problems with his father. Proof of that is the book that he wrote for him, called "Letters to my Father". However, tonight I'm not going to discuss about that. I am going to explain (or try to) what is the meaning behind this great book....

First of all, it Greg becomes a Beetle, not a roach like some people think. If you go to the beginning of the book, you will find that he is trying to explain to himself what kind of animal he was. The description fits perfectly with the Beetle. It is unclear to me why people made that dumb assumption, because it is perfectly clear that he's not a roach (come on, grab a Biology book and compare)

The metaphor of the beetle is to represent a sudden change of life, like an addiction or an illness. Most of us, wants to hide that from the society and our family, because we want to protect their feelings. I am going to continue, not now, because it is 1:08am, and I need to go to bed....

It seems amazing for me that just a couple of weekends ago I was still a student at Harding University. I enjoyed the fucking and the drinking like you wouldn't imagine. I became good at picking up girls at fucking bars, luckily, I had a friend who was willing to use his credit card to rent a Hotel room. I was a good student, I can prove it you idiot. Also I was a sexaholic. It is sad that I could not find a girl who was just like me: A drinker, smoker, that like to get lay. I am waiting for her, Miss Right. I don't want to sound cheesy, but I am looking for someone who doesn't give a shit about anything, like me lol. Not really, I just want to find a place where my dick can stay warm and be protected from the rain.

I just can't believe that I graduated. I'm afraid of all the fucking responsabilities that I have to take care of now. I need a job. Gigolo? No, I want to earn good fresh money like everybody else. If I party, I want to spend my money, not someone else's.

Before I go, I just want to complain with the fucking electric company (EEO, Empresa Electrica de Oriente) The fucking bastards are fucking charging me with 11 bucks for nothing! I mean, I could use that money to rent a motel room and to buy 2 beers (One for me, the other one for the whore). The son of bitches want to charge more money next month. What are they doing that? Are they paying Russian prostitutes or what? What other reason will they... Ohh right, they want some underage prostitutes from Belgium. Hell, if they can get one, I also can!

I just saw an interview on CNN. A guy from the RCTV was talking about freedom of expression and all that crap. Anyways, not many people complained when Mauricio Funes was fired from TV Doce El Salvador. Some protested but the majority didn't do a crap. Now this guy comes out telling that the government took away the concession. What is concession? Is it like a permission, isn't? I think is kinda like a contract. If your employeer decides to terminate your contract, you're not gonna start a revolution right? It is his right to renew or terminate the contract. It is sad, I know. Hundreds of person lost their jobs. The Venezuelan Government could handle this situation better. I mean, they are in the BEST position. Chavez needs to allow freedom of speech! Why? Well, I believe the people is intelligent enough to make the right choice in the kind of government they want. Power has taken control of Chavez. He will attack a Latin American Country, and then take ownership of it. Probably Colombia, it is an easy target. Anyways, we must defend our freedom but we have to understand what the meaning of a Concession is, it is a risky agreement......

Ohhh Microsoft.... wait a minute, this time is not Microsoft, it's Apple! That's right! It seems to be that the pride of having an Apple computer is about to end. The CEO said not so long ago that "Netbooks" were crappy computers. A couple of weeks after that a rumour spread out and it was about Apple probably releasing a "low-cost" mac.... That's right! The folks of Apple finally got the memo telling them that the economy is doing bad and the most affordable computer (and most sold so far) is the Netbook. It's a rumour, but still, just taking the time to "insult" netbooks is a signal that they are going to shift with the market. After all, we want to do what the market wants, or not?

A couple of weeks ago, I created a blog in Wordpress. I am like oh shit! because I haven't update it. I mean, I need to write something in Spanish and soon, 'cause that's my fucking native language. I like English but I prefer speaking in Spanish. Why? What the fuck do you care? I am free of doing whatever I want.

Graduation is this Saturday!!! My father came to the United States of America for the first time in his life. I remember when I first came here. I was not homesick or even missed my family 'cause my life became a routine very quickly. My dad seems kinda homesick but he will feel better after a couple of days. It is hard for him to get used to this busy lifestyle. We don't sleep at night and we are kinda loud too. I'm getting a well-earned degree, and I hope I can find a job when I come back home. It has been a busy week, because I had tons of exams. However, I got A's and B's. Right now, I am playing call of Duty 4. I am the most amazing camper of all times lol Not really but I'm kinda close to that. Anyways, I'm going to bed now. Take it easy bros!

Two Weeks

Well, it looks like the fucking semester is about to be over. Through a lot of effort, I'm finally graduating in May. It is ubberly amazing the amount of work that I had to do in order to get a degree. I learnt a lot during the past several years: From how to write a simple "Hello World" application to how to get laid in three simple steps. I met a lot of people, made hundreds of friends and dated several girls. Not everything was good, I met some crazy emo persons who were trying to destroy my reputation, but they managed to destroy their own reputation. I got some news today that made me happy. Although I regret some things I never did, like telling Madison that I love her since the first day I saw her (Student Impact), have more dates with Jackie, become billionaire, etc., I do not regret being here. There others, who like me, got a scholarship. However, some of them wanted to go home after just two weeks of being here. I know that people are different, my only complain here is that they seem not to appreciate this wonderful scholarship. Through this, I was able to develop artistic skills, like photography, and critical thinking. Not only that, I also discovered that there are still good people in the world, like The Austins. The Austins has been a blessing to me, and my family. I believe God knows what he's doing, and he's doing because it's the best thing for us. I was so upset with my life two days ago, no, I was not becoming an emo; I was having a bad day, luckily, it end up being a good day. Tomorrow I might go dancing, I'm not taking a date with me, 'cause I'm a senior, and that means I'm not a guy that any girl would like to go on a date, because I'm leaving, for a long long time. I still don't know what I'm going to do once I'm home, hope is on the way. Someday I will meet the one who will rock my world, and I might ask her to marry me, meanwhile, I'm gonna get laid, party like a wild animal, enjoy my freedom and see the changes that El Salvador will face on June......

About two years ago, this young fellow that you see here, went to Ebay, and he bought a laptop, but not any laptop but a mac. It cost me 170 dollars. It wasn't that expensive but the reason why is because it had 128 MB of ram and only 500 Mhz of processing power. I wanted to see what was all the buzz about the Mac world thingy, so I bought an old one and I like the hardware of the apple computers. I don't like their operating systems, I thing it lags a lot of features that Windows and Linux have.

After 2 years of using it, I thought of buying a new one and selling it on ebay. The one that I really was the new laptops called Netbook. Indeed, these kind of laptops are very popular, because they are cheap and very portable. I really wanted to buy one, until I saw the performance of one. I believe it was slower than my old Ibook. Internet Explorer took 35 seconds to load (While safari on my Ibook takes 3 to 4 seconds. Windows Xp takes 3 minutes to load, while my ibook only takes 45 seconds. I don't even want to try running Photoshop on those machines. My ibook can run Photoshop and it handles pretty well my 8.0 MP Full Quality pictures. Picture editing in photoshop runs smoothly.

Anyhow, I won't recommend here to buy an old ibook G3, instead save some money and buy an Ibook G4. Eventually you'll miss youtube and Hulu.com

Yet Another Week...

Time is running out. Only a month till my Graduation from Harding University. I'm kinda scare, because I don't really know what is going to happen after that. I really want to have my degree, however I'm very very afraid of the responsabilities that I'm about to face. I've never worked in my entire life, I wish I did. Now, unless I find a way to become a multibillionare, I have to work very hard to become someone in this life. Also, a big huge paper is due a week from this coming friday.

A lot changes are coming to my life this year. Well, not only to me, but the people that surround me. My friends start a new life, a hard life. It is hard to see your childhood friends taking serious responsabilities that they once denied to take. After I finished high school, my close friends and I used to make fun of our classmates, who were having children, but they were not married. Some of our classmates (a very tiny group) gave us a name which was offensive but at the same time funny. Those same people were the first ones to "ruin" their life. I'm not against marrying and having children, the thing is that they had children way before turning 21 years old. Instead of focusing on any career (Either College or Job) they got laid, and the funny thing is that they don't even know how to use a condom. How in hell did she get pregnant? I've been fooling around for many years, and none of them ended up pregnant. Why? Why do they have kids? My guess is that none of them actually pay attention to Sex Ed Class, and never learn to pull it out before it "explodes".

In conclusion, life can hit you hard if you are not careful enough. The grass is very green in this side of the valley, I invite everyone to learn how to have sex, learn how to enjoy the good things in life, before it becomes a living hell.

I've been away 3 days from blogger because I was sick and kinda got in troubles, however I managed to solve with the help of God. Several people think that I'm not religious at all because I don't go to church, but I do love God and I do pray. I believe that in order to go to Heaven, a person should accept Christ in his heart. Going to Church every Sunday morning is not gonna get you to Heaven. Church helps you to worship God and listen to His Word. However if we never put in practice what is preach in Church, our destination when the Time arrives will be not very pretty. If we want to be save, we MUST quit this world, and join His World.

In other things, today Samuel asked me to go to his counseling class and act as a "patient" who was looking for help to make a change in his life. I did not know what to say, so made up a problem: "Sex-aholic". Why did I choose that? Well, I knew the person who was going to "listen" to me was going to have trouble with that, because in this University is something that no one wants to talk about it. Anyways, I think my acting was ok, not like the girl who was before me, that was totally fake, but it was a good problem the one that she brought up to the class.

Tomorrow is my birthday!! I'm gonna turn 21!!! yayyyy!!!! One more year in my life. I don't have any plans for tomorrow, since I'm far away from my family I think I'm gonna stay in my room and watch some movies like "Marley and Me". Or I'm just gonna order some Indian food lol Yep, that means I'm going to be legal, however, I'm not one of those people who party on weekends. I never been like that and I don't think I'll enjoy that lifestyle.

So, let's see what happens tomorrow :D

Netbook Monday!

So I got upt and I found out that my beloved country has a new President that will bring hope to this poor nation in times where the economy is hurting the hungry minds of the developing countries. However, this can hurt politically to the FMLN. The world is in a deep financial crisis, which led to Iceland to declare itself in Bankruptcy. It will be hard to improve a Third World Country which has the highest rate of murders in Latin America.

Surely, people will expect changes from night to day, but that is not the ways things work. It takes time to fix things, and the new government will receive everything but a healthy country. It is amazing what greed can do to a country which dreams of becoming like the United States. Our dream was to become a great nation, a role model for other nations. We were a powerful nation, we invaded and conquered Honduras in less than 24 hours.

However, people were greedy and destroy all those dreams and transformed this country in to gang paradise. But from now on, HOPE is red all over.....

Elections Day!!! Live Canal Doce El Salvador

I woke up this morning to watch the Presidential elections on Canal Doce. It is a great channel, I watched almost everyday on the internet. The audience is usually 130 to 140 viewers. Today, I was amazed because there are up to 1000+ at 11am. Tele Corporacion Salvadorena does not have this kind of service, just some silly games.

Canal Doce was the First one to stream the signal on the internet, Grupo Megavision came second, but it never worked for me. Thanks to Canal Doce, I am able to know what's happening today, I hope that Mauricio Funes wins this election. The polls look favorable, but those may be wrong. Remember what happened last time? Violeta Menjivar lost the election in one of the biggest cities of El Salvador. As of right now, Armando Calderon Sol, former President of El Salvador is speaking to the population of El Salvador. Some critics say that from the Arena Presidents, he was the best. Some joke because he was not smart enough to steal money, some say because he had social sensitivity. El Salvador improved somehow during his administration.

There have been few problems in the voting posts. The international observers have seem nothing so far. If the FMLN wins, the relationship between the USA and ES will be the same. I do not believe that something bad will happen. The Republicans will feel horrible, because the last standing Latin American Republican Country may fall down in the Progressive hands of the Socialist Party.

Look at Nicaragua: Did something happened to them? No. What about Venezuela? No. What about Bolivia and Paraguay? NO. Those countries are running "normally" and not invasion or war had exploded over there.

In 6 hours, we will know who will rule this country: The Extreme Right-Wing or The FMLN...

Holy Smokes!!! The election for president of my beloved country is this Sunday!!! I can't believe it!! This is going to be the most watched election of all times. Not even Obama can have this much attention over an election. This Sunday the fate of a country will be on a piece of paper. Many politicians are expecting that the FMLN win this election.

El Salvador has been under the ruling of the Republican Party. My country is the last right wing country in America. That's right, Obama is also a communist. Why do you think Hugo Chavez is going to fix the relationship between Venezuela and USA? Because they have the same ideology. You can start looking, and you won't find another Republican country in Latin America. Oh yeah, you might say Colombia is right wing, however, they still have the FARC, so politically speaking, Colombia's future is doom. That's right you cokes! Your country sucks!!! Anyways, this is the moment everyone is waiting for. Even the BBC London is watching this election.

So far, the current government has been unable to improve the life of the population of this country. But now is all in the past... A brand new future can be written this Sunday. Hope is on the way...

I sorry to inform you that firefox is not my favorite web browser. Starting this week, I started using Google Chrome for everything. Yep, Google Chrome is starting to look real good. But what I'm really waiting for is the version for Mac OS X. Hopefully, they will make it available for Panther and Tiger Users. If they don't I'll be pretty mad. I might not look like there are a lot of Panthers users, but there is a pretty big community of them. I'm one of them, and I also use Linux. Why do I still keep my 500 Mhz Ibook? Because is awesome! I get the best of two worlds for this price: U.S. $125 and it came with a 20 GB Ipod. Isn't that just awesome?

Meanwhile, in the Flickr-verse, now everyone can upload videos!! HD Videos !!! The bad thing about it is that the non-Pro users will be allow to upload only 2 videos per month and we still have the 90 Seconds limit. That kinda suck, however, yahoo will not be liable for copyrighted content. I wonder if Yahoo plans involves making a Flickr as a way to watch TV shows and movies. Flickr is the best picture sharing site in the world. I'm not being bias, I tried other sites like Webshots. Webshots gives you unlimited space to upload pictures and a set of tools which you can use to edit your pictures. What's the price? Free but your site will be FULL of advertising which may annoy some people. Besides that, the amount of ads makes it look messy. Picasa is good, but try to open 4 pictures in different tabs. Besides that I think Picasa Web Albums is used only for sharing of huge amount of pictures, not for show your best work to the world. So I strongly recommend Flickr.

Finally, why American girls are so weird? No matter how beautiful they are, they always have some kind of mental disorder. I dated one last year, very beautiful, classy and she dressed like a princess. However, she has some traumas and depression which she is denying always...

Hello! Wow! The first blog of the year. I'm getting a little rusty when it comes to writes stuffs. I've been trying to write some short stories, but I've been blank. That actually never happened to me before, well it did, but I always found a way to get inspiration. So, I think today I will take the first picture in months. I don't really know what am I going to take, but something is better than nothing.... Well, that's what I believe.

I have a Bible test today, I'm studying, well kinda. I'm here blogging instead of studying. Well, I'm memorizing the stuff that I need to learn for the exam. My Bible class is at 7:30 am. Holy smokes!! I forgot that I have to read for my other class, World Literature. Anyways, I may write something meaningful tomorrow. Not that this has no meaning at all, but you know, something that someone who might hit this blog by accident will enjoy.

XNA 3.0: How to create an installer!

After reading many forums addressing this issue, last weekend one of my friends told me how to do it. I felt so embarrassed because creating an installer for a XNA game is the easiest thing ever. I didn't even have to use the complex but crappy Inno Script that is around the internet.

Well, let's get started!

First, open Visual Studio. Click on File ---> New ---> Project.

Next, an option window will appear. Click on other "Other Project Types", "Setup and Deployment" and then select "Setup Project"

A new project will be created. So far so good haha. Anyways, in the Explorer window, right click "Setup1" This is under the "Solution Project"

In the properties window, click on the button labeled "Prerequisites" I'm not going to show a screen shot for that because there is a list of prerequisites and you can select whichever you want.

After setting up the prerequisites, you just have to drag and drop the Release folder of your game to the folder in the setup project called "Application Folder". Instead of compiling in "Debug Mode", compile in "Release Mode". It will create a "Release" folder in the "bin/x86" folder.

Then, compile the project and that's it!! Yes, it works and it looks for all the prerequisites that you want to look for. If they are not installed, it will ask you to install them. Neat isn't? It is a shame that in the "XNA Official Forum" make a big deal about the installer. Don't use ClickOnce. It's bad because it creates two copies of the content folder and it is installed in a hidden folder, not in the Program Files. This is the best way you can make an installer for an XNA 3.0, 2.0 or 1.0 Game. Don't botter using WIX Installer or any other script for make an installer. Visual Studio has all what you need to make a powerful and robust installer.

Well, not exactly a maniac Monday. I skipped chapel today, yes, I blew up my last chapel skip. I did that because I needed to get some rest. Besides that I smelled like crap and I didn't look clean. Anyways, the day is running smoothly, except for the random quiz that we have today on my IT class. I did blow up that quiz, I didn't know anything about it and we have a test on Wednesday!!!! I almost have a heart attack today when I though that we have an American Government test on Wednesday.... Although I'm really enjoying this class. I expect one day become the President of United States. I don't know any important politician, but that's just one of my dreams...

Well, I don't know if I told you this, but I'm taking which requires to make a game. We are making the popular table game called: Connect Four. I can't describe our game design, because I don't want that some crazy guy steal our ideas. The game is looking pretty neat thanks to Jason and Rowmean (GUI Leaders) and thanks to our Team Leader BJ(AI). BJ has the most complex part of the game which is the making of the AI for the game. Jason and Rowmean spent a great amount of time polishing the graphics of the game, and let me tell you that it looks awesome! I'm in charge of the design and implementation of the Music and the Help. I screwed up our game by adding the feature of "music player" to our game. If we were doing it in Flash, it will be much more easier, but since we are using XNA, thinks are becoming far more complicated. Anyways, people seem to like our game and our music. The other team (yes, I haven't explained the details of this project, suck it up :D ) has a cool looking game. The menus look smooth and their transitions look minimalistic. It's going to be a rough competition.....

XNA Sound using WMPLIB?

Yes, I'm using the Windows Media library to play the sounds effect for our game..... and yes, we are using XNA 3.0. For some reason, it doesn't want to play the mp3 and wav audio files like it is suppose to be. Although WMPLIB seems to be easier than the "correct" way of playing audio files.

After a long weekend of studying and being happy because I'm getting closer to the 10,000 views, I woke up this evening with a big surprise: 0 Views on Saturday. I'm pretty surprise by those results. I have more than 100 contacts on Flickr and I visit their photo streams and also I comment in some of their pictures. May be I should upload pictures of naked ladies, I bet that will boost up the view counter.

My next picture that I will upload will be one that I'm not very proud of it, but it is my first "photoshopping" of myself. Laugh if you want, but I may do a photoshopping of you and you won't be laughing anymore :)

Thanks to the help of Ubuntu Forums, I fixed the icons of my desktop. However, today I erased every icon on it because I'm going to use Terminal to open my favorite applications. Real men use Terminal!

Today I don't have classes, we are on a Break!!! no, not like the one with Rachel and Ross, a break from school. I have a wonderful night last night, but I don't have anything for today. Yes, I stay in Harding, but that doesn't mean that I can't have fun! I already started by playing halo with my friends.

Also, I'm going to finish my book. I'm a fast reader by the way.

I'm going to take some pictures today, and also I'm going to do some xna programming. Right now, I'm taking a class in which we have to make a game. We've been working for the last 5 weeks and it's looking pretty awesome!

It has been a lovely day today. I woke up and instead of using my Windows XP desktop pc, I used my Ibook with Kubuntu Linux. The downside is that I couldn't listen to my friend's podcast today. Although I didn't want to go, I was forced to attend a play. Yes, a play! I'm a very social person, but when it comes to plays, I have to make a research about it first. This time I didn't have time to read the plot.

The first play that I watch was called "The Actor's Nightmare" Awful, horrific, poorly developed. I want that hour of my life back. It was pointless. The only time you know it is a dream is when they announced the title of that horrible, horrible thing. The "Actor" claims to be an accountant, not an actor. The performance of the actors in this play is comparable to the performance of middle schools kids in a impromptu play. I fell asleep, I'm not kidding, I did fall asleep. The whole plot was boring and very silly. The worst thing is that I had to pay Five Dollars. Five Dollars!!! Even watching Cloverfield was cheaper than that (At least they had a monster)

The next play was called 'Bald Soprano' I have to say that I have never attended such a horrible play. The actors repeated this sentence "how curious, how bizarre" 27 times. 27 times!!! Even my blog entries are far more interesting than that.

Nevertheless, the night was saved by John Rambo. I had time to watch again the new Rambo movie.

My Ibook G3 Experience

I bought my Ibook G3 last year. No one knew that I bought one, not even my closest friends. Why? Because I used to say that the Mac were a very expensive piece of junk. I got it for only U.S. $175.00, on sale. It is old, but still functional. I added a 512 MB RAM that a friend gave me and the same friend added a DVD/CD Drive. My Ibook was flying; with only 500 Mhz, the extra RAM gave it a boost. At the beginning, I didn't like the operating system that it had (Mac OS X) and I was stuck with it. I didn't know what to do, until I met Linux. A friend explained how Linux worked, and I decided to give it a try. The first Linux that I installed in my mac was Yellow Dog 4.0. It is very functional but it didn't look "pretty", so I didn't like that much; but because it was faster than Mac, I decided to keep it. Until I got the extra RAM, I installed Kubuntu (which I am still using) and it is running great. I have copied my entire music library to my ibook because I prefer to use Linux rather than Windows. Although I'm running dual boot Mac OS & Kubuntu, I only use Mac OS X for Flash. Unfortunately there is not a functional Flash for Linux PPC (I'll explain the term PPC later on) only for Linux Intel. I recommend Kubuntu if you like to have a robust operating system. Unless you are a designer, you should give Linux a try.

The race for the White begun a couple a months ago. I never write something about because I did not think it could make a difference what I think. But lately, I've been asked whether I am Republican or Democrat. I am a Democrat, why? later on I will talk about, but today I want to focus in something more important than political parties: The Future of a Nation.

I'm going to review Mike Huckabee, but I'm going to focus on the positive side of him, because I think the media will tell horrible things about each candidates.

Who is this guy? Well, He is the former governor of the State of Arkansas. He was considered, according to the Times Magazine (yes, I read/love/will-marry the Times Magazine) , the best governor of the United States. He was born in Hope Arkansas August 24, 1955. He supports the right to life, which makes me things that he will ban the abortion (good thing). He has shown a lot of interest in Education and Arts. He wants to teach kids music? Come on... Anyways, He is a Christian and he is closed minded. I don't know what is going to happen when he has to speak with the religious leaders of America (or the world). He wants to finish the job in Iraq, which I believe is good, because it would be a disaster is the United States abandoned Iraq without notice. He wants to stabilize the region, by helping countries like Siria, Iran, Palestine and others. That's an important job that needs to be done, because until that happens, we cannot go to sleep peacefully.

The Golden Compass: Looks Like a Good Movie

For the last couple of days, I've been hearing a lot about this movie. The movie looks awesome, but for some people, the movie represents the beginning of the end.

The Golden Compass is believed that is going to "convert people" into "atheism. Atheism is defined as a philosophical view, is the position that either affirms the nonexistence of gods or rejects them[1]. The Golden Compass (Northern Lights) is a book and was written by Philip Pullman, whom is a supporter of the British Humanist Association and an Honorary Associate of the National Secular Society. He is described as the most outspoken atheist of England. According to some people who "warm" me about the movie, this fellow's mission is to spread the atheism all over the world. For me, that "affirmation" is stupid. I receive two invitations per day to join the groups that are against this movie. I have a message for those who send me invitation for that group: "IT IS JUST A MOVIE!" You can form your faith out of a movie/book. I really don't understand, how they can be against a movie but they still watch tv shows with curse language and sexual scenes.

It's interesting the amount of people who joined the Facebook group "Do NOT support 'The Golden Compass' (60,715)" and the amount of people who belong to groups against pornography (60 to 100). Which movie do you think is worst: The Golden Compass or a porn movie? It just a matter of time when people realize that it was just a movie, nothing to worry about. As I said before, you can't take your moral values out of a movie or tv show, but if you do, I feel sorry about you. I hope people don't protest outside the movie theaters, because it's to cold outside to be protesting.

El Alcatel OT 320: Todo un guerrero. Me costo la minima cantidad de 15 dolares. Recientemente, por alguna extrana razon, me acorde de este telefono. Me acuerdo cuando no tenia el cargador, y de cuando lo cargaba en la escuela. Isai (o Gabriel) dejo bloqueado el telefono jajaja y le cobramos una pequena cantidad de dinero, que fue repartida entre Koris y yo. Con este telefono fue que hice la llamada a cierta mujer que luego se convirtio en mi novia que luego me boto :S En internet, ha sido catalogado como un telefono "warrior," que fue usado mayormente en lugares donde solo necesitaban hablar por celular y no tenian el dinero para costearse un celular a colores. Con 15 melodias polifonicas, un OS medio pasable , el Alcatel OT 320 parecia un telefono para gente adulta, que no entiende la tecnologia moderna. En fin, me alegra tanto haber encontrado los ringtones de mi antiguo celular. Espero algun dia volver a comprarlo :D

Marzo fue un mes de grandes acontecimientos: Mi cumpleaños, amigos que se van de la universidad, vacaciones, computadora nueva, amigos saliendo con amigas, etc. Debido a que el mes de marzo fue un mes lleno de expectativas, decidi hacer un video con las mejores fotos de Flickr durante el mes de Marzo. Tal vez diran "Que no tenes nada que hacer?" pues si, lo tengo, pero me parecio muy importante dejar plasmado un mes de alegria y esperanza en un video para que sea visto en la posteridad.

Ya es Abril!!! La primavera llego, con su calorcito!! Bueno, ni tanto calor, pues desde el jueves ha estado haciendo frio. ya me quedan 35 dias para llegar a El Salvador, estoy emocionado, por que voy a ver a mi familia y amigos!!

Bueno, al fin tengo 19 años. Este año han habido muchas sorpresas en mi vida. Muy malas experiencias y una gran leccion que tendre en mi mente toda mi vida. Increible que nunca le dije a la ella lo que yo sentia. Nunca tuve el valor (Como siempre) y ahora, ya tiene novio. Estoy enojado conmigo mismo, no por que no le dije, sino que por que hay cosas peores que estan pasando alrededor del mundo y yo preocupandome por una mujer. Ya lo supere (Al menos eso creo) y empece mi vida normal. Extraño a mi familia un monton, y a mis amigos tambien. En esta soledad en la que estoy, lo unico que me da consuelo son los libros que acabo de comprar (El de Michael Moore y el de Jon Stewart) Esos libros son grandes amigos aqui en Harding. Tambien otros grandes amigos son los libros de Ingenieria del Software y el de HTML/CGI/PHP/Perl. Aun me hace falta madurar, sigo jugando con Lego's, todavia veo caricaturas y quiero conquistar el mundo con mi ejercito Imperial. No se que hare para celebrar mi cumpleaños, estoy falto de dinero y de ropa (Me robaron todos mis pantalones y mis camisas) y con hambre. Espero que hoy sea un dia mejor y no lo olviden, hagan el bien sin mirar a quien!

Mi pasion por la fotografia es mas o menos vieja. Me acuerdo de la camara instantanea que mi padre tenia. Tome unas cuantas fotos con ella, y dejenme decirles que me encanto. Poco tiempo despues, mi hermana consiguio una camara Kodak, una regular. Sacaba fotos decentes. Me gusto mucho, y empece a tomar fotos como loco. Use 5 rollos de 32 exposiciones en dos meses. Solo llegue a revelar 2, por que era algo caro en aquel entonces el revelado.

Tiempo despues, arruine la camara (Era un niño, comprendan) y mi actitudes fotograficas quedaron guardadas en el atico. Muchos años despues, cuando estaba en bachillerato, conocimos al excelente personaje de Vicente. Es una gran persona. En ese momento, mi pasion por la fotografia habia despertado (Y creo que tambien la de Milton) cuando Vicente nos mostro su camara. Quede maravillado. No podia que tanta tecnologia podia caber en algo tan pequeño. Le pedi prestada la camara a Vicente por unos cuantos dias, y tome muchas fotos (150 fotos) La calidad de las fotos era baja, pero para ese entonces, para mi era impresionante lo que hacia. Ya no tenia que revelar rollos, ahora solo pasaba las fotos a mi compu, a traves de un cable USB. El tamaño de las fotos era de 480x320? en su mas alta calidad. En su minima, tomaba fotos 320x240.

La camara de Vicente. Pequeña pero potente.

Despues, se me ocurrio la idea de comprar una de esas camaras. Asi que fui a Metro Centro a preguntar por este tipo de camaras. Me salieron con una cosa mucho mas pequena. Quede horrorizado. No por que era pequeña, sino por que valia 40 Dolares y, parecia mas llavero que camara.

Aunque el tiempo ha pasado, yo no me olvido de las experiencias que he tenido: Buenas o malas. Y el contacto directo con este tipo de camaras fue una muy buena experiencia para mi. Cada vez que veo mi nueva camara, me acuerdo de cuando fui con mis amigos a Rancho Plaza, todo el dia, a celebrar mi cumpleaños, tomamos 80 fotos solo ese dia. Extraño a todos mis amigos: Oscar, Milton, Josue, Doriam, Pacheco, Chequin, La Garza, y muchos mas..... Ahora que estoy aqui, lejos de mi casa, de mi familia y mis amigos, momentos de melancolia y tristeza me invaden. Pero se que tengo que sacar excelentes notas, cueste lo que cueste. En las noches, estoy solo en mi cuarto, triste. Me siento abandonado. Aqui tengo muy pocos verdaderos amigos (con los que estoy viviendo son unos de ellos.) Jamas habia experimentado un alto nivel de hipocresia. La cancion de No Doubt- Don't speak suena mientras escribo este blog. Quizas es por eso es que me gusta la fotografia: Por que puedo llevar a mis amigos, a cualquier parte del mundo: Capturo los momentos de alegrias, tristezas y felicidad.

Me borraron mi cuenta de Youtube!

Hace poco, obtuve mi cuenta de Director en Youtube. Fue al grandioso, pero a la vez desastrozo. Tuve que eliminar todos los videos que yo no habia hecho (Los que tenian copyright) y empece a subir solo mis videos. Hasta ese entonces, todo iba bien hasta ayer en la noche. Tranquilamente estaba revisando los videos que habian en Youtube cuando a la media noche, recibo la notificacion de que mi cuenta habia sido suspendida definitivamente. Como fue eso posible? No tengo la mas minima idea. El material que habia subido era material que yo mismo habia inventado. Pero bueno... la vida sigue y cree otra cuenta y estoy mas feliz que nunca.

Entre otras cosas, he estado haciendo mi proyecto para la clase de Internet. Se trata de mi sitio web. El sitio que estoy haciendo se trata de una de mis pasiones: La fotografia. Hasta el momento, mi sitio esta bien simple. pero espero algun dia, hacerlo mejor y ponerlo al publico. Aqui les dejo un screenshot de como se luce mi paginita.
