is Facebook going to post your address?

There's a rumor that Facebook is soon going to post your address in every status update. Probably this move has something to do with the recent growth of twitter and the coincidental decrease of facebook users.

This is a wrong move. Nobody cares about where you are, except kidnappers, robbers and the occasional stalker. So how is facebook going to handle this? Please keep in mind that 'sex offenders' now have the right to get in the internet, and there's no way to probe you're not a sex offender in facebook, so letting people know your address is a double edge weapon.

By doing this, facebook could have a better way to find your friends and show you information relevant to you. However the plan is not to help you, but to get more money from advertisers. The move seems to be to make your location public, and easily accessible by advertisers who will pay more for targeting an specific location, city, town, region.

Let's see what facebook comes up. I'm getting tired of seeing ads about University of Phoenix, when I'm not even close to Phoenix!
