The future of the Xbox 360 and why you should get an Xbox One

Xbox One is back on the game! After removing the idiotic DRM restrictions and the 'one per 24 hours check in', the Xbox One is now again being competitive. This is good news, however the Xbox 360 is now dying. If you are an Xbox 360 owner you must upgrade or you will be left behind.

The Apple 'Intel Switch' taught us that tech and app support doesn't last long when there's a major platform change. The Xbox 360 has a 3 Core PowerPC based processor and it was pretty powerful at the time. However development was hard and it took some time to get used to the PowerPC instructions. With the Xbox One, a lot of applications will be easier to port since this new console will be based on the x86 architecture, and this is nothing but bad news, because developers and game publishers will be reluctant to write a game for two different platforms. At first, we will see games for both platforms, due to Microsoft pushing game publishers, however as time goes by, we will see less and less Xbox 360 compatible games and apps. Efforts will now be focused to this new platform and apps development for the 360 will be dropped. As a result, the Xbox 360 will become nothing but a paperweight.

What about NetFlix? You won't even be able to stream your movies and TV shows. NetFlix has a long record of dropping architecture support without a notice.

For all those reasons stated above you should get an Xbox One. The Xbox 360 will have a lifespan of 2 more years, but until then enjoy playing online on your Xbox 360
